KRISTY LEMOND MEMORIAL ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP

Shortly after Kristy passed away, an anonymous donor approached the University of Washington with a donation to create a scholarship fund in her name within the Department of Education. The purpose of this fund is "To provide undergraduate scholarships to students within the UW College of Education's undergraduate programs (Early Childhood and Family Studies Major & Education, Learning, and Society minor). The fund is in honor of Kristina "Kristy" LeMond, a 2011 UW graduate who had a strong passion for education and making a difference in the lives of children around the world."

Due to the continued incredible efforts of an annual golf tournament fundraiser put on by Barry's childhood friends, the Fund has reached $200,000! Once it hits $250,000 mark, it will become a Distinguished Scholarship and the first in the College of Education's history! Amazing! This endowment has created an annual scholarship to a deserving undergraduate. The annual gift amount increases as the endowment increases. There have been six  scholarship recipients thus far. This scholarship is established to go in perpetuity.
